Programme Specific Outcome (PSO)
  • PSO1: Career options after graduating with B.A. Honours in English are more than just becoming a teacher or journalist. There are several openings for content developers in various fields as companies and brands strive to enhance their online presence through digital marketing. Script writing and copywriting are high paying jobs.
  • PSO2:Public Relations is another option for English graduates if they are capable of convincing people with words.
  • PSO3: Graduates with proficiency in another foreign language along with English can take up jobs as translators at an Embassy.
  • PSO4: Editing and proofreading is an attractive career option for graduates who are ready to go through several manuscripts every day.
  • PSO5: Publishing houses as well as academic institutions offer diplomas in editing which can help students secure jobs faster. Graduates with a creative bent of mind can try their hand at authoring books or copywriting for advertisements.

They get knowledge about epidemics and pandemics and health disasters and management. Got brief idea about climate change and sustainable development along with disaster management.
CC-I British Poetry and Drama: 14th and 17th century Students get knowledge about British poetry & drama from the 14th to the 17th century.
CC-II British Poetry and Drama: 17th and 18th Century Students will acquaint with the Jacobean and 18th century British poetry and drama.
AECC Ethic & Value-I Issues Relating to women Develop proper attitude towards women, allow women to realize their self worth and contribute their best for betterment of society, and to attain gender equity.
Semester 2 AECC-II Odia Communicative Odia course is designed to enhance student’s proficiency in the language with a focus on effective communication skills. Course outcomes like language proficiency, communication skills, Critical thinking, listening, speaking, reading, writing etc.
CC-3 British Prose:18th Century The paper is to acquaint the students with a remarkable, newly evolved form of literature: The Essay
CC-4 Indian Writing in English Students will know about Indian writing in English, through a selection of  representative poems, novel and play.
AECC Ethic & Value-II (Values and Good Citizenship) Understand basic value of Indian Constitution, inculcating sense of volunteerism, patriotism
Semester 3 SEC-I Communicative English Communicative English course is designed to enhance student’s proficiency in the English language with a focus on effective communication skills. Course outcomes like language proficiency, communication skills, Critical thinking, listening, speaking, reading , writing etc.
CC-5 British Romantic Literature The paper aims at acquainting the Students with the Romantic period and some of its representative writers.
CC-6 British Literature 19th Century This paper seeks to introduce the students to the exploits of the 19th Century British Literature fiction and Cultural criticism.
CC-7 British Literature: Early 20th Century The paper aims at acquainting It students with the literature of Britain in the early 20th century poetry, novel and literary criticism.
AECC Ethic & Value-III (Issue of drugs, tobacco and alcohol addiction) Creating awareness about health and societal hazards of drug, tobacco and alcohol addiction.
Semester 4 SEC-I QLT Student will enhance their Quantitative logical thinking level after reading this.
CC-8 American Literature This is the survey paper providing students an overview of canonical authors from American Literature in the established genres.
CC-9 European Classical Literature This paper seeks to introduce the students to European Classical literature.  
CC-10 Women’s Writing The paper seeks to acquaint the student with the works of women writers from different cultures and nations in various genres.
AECC Ethic & Value-IV (Ethical value for student life)  To Familiarise the students with core value of academics and goals of education and to create awareness about unethical practice in academics
Semester 5 CC-11 Modern European Drama The aims of this paper are to introduce the students to the best of experimental and innovative dramatic literature of modern Europe.
CC-12 Indian Classical Literature The paper seeks to create awareness abusing the students of the rich and diverse literary and aesthetic culture of ascent India.
DSE-1 Literary Theory Familiarize students with the literary premises and intellectual background pertinent to important ers of the literary and critical theory.
DSE-2 World Literature It helps students in increasing their knowledge about different world literature.
AECC Ethic & Value-V (Vulnerable section of society : understanding their issues)   To create awareness amongst the students about the need for ensuring dignity and equality for the vulnerable section of the society such as children, elderly persons disable persons and third gender.
Semester 6 CC-13 Postcolonial Literatures This paper seeks to introduce the students to Postcolonial literature of Asia Africa, Middle East etc.
CC-14 Popular Literature This paper seeks to introduce the Students to genres such as children's literature, detective fiction & campus fiction.
DSE-3 Partition literature Students should be able to identify, analyze, interpret and describe the critical ideas, values and themes that appear in literary and cultural text and understand the way these ideas values impact culture and society.
DSE-4 Writing for Mass Media Students should have an understanding that mass media operates as a system of interrelated force, including historical foundations, technological advanced economic dynamics, legal etc.
